Welcome to Year 3,

An exciting year with lots of opportunities to experience new activities.

Travel back in time to discover Ancient Egypt across the curriculum. Learn about the amazing discovery of Tutankhamen´s Tomb and it´s treasures. Create your own mummy and design and make a papyrus or clay amulet. Compare features of Ancient Egyptian farming, houses and schools.

In the Spring Term, stop off in Ancient Greece to take part in the Olympic Games. Enjoy reading Greek Myths and create your own heroes and monsters through Literacy, Art and Design Technology. Meet Niemte, a housewife from Ancient Greece and ask her what life was really like at the time.

Learn how to be a super scientist. Build crazy circuits using the weirdest of objects and explore the mystery of magnets. In the Summer Term, investigate the great outdoors to learn about our local environment. Compare local habitats to those in the Amazon Rain Forest and conduct scientific investigations to find out preferred conditions for minibeasts.

Other exciting activities enjoyed in Year 3 are, swimming and learning French. Take up an extra-curricular activity such as learning to play the recorder, guitar or keyboard. Why not join the school choir or join another school club?
