Welcome to Year 1

In Year One we do lots of fun things - learn while you play!

Enjoy the role-play area using the Police Station, Cafe, Post Office and more- it is different every half-term!

In Geography, find out about our local area and "keeping safe". Carry out surveys, draw maps and visit interesting places in the local area. Use maps, graphs and photos to show what you have discovered!

In History, learn about Houses and Homes from the past and from other countries. Dress up, make models and learn about other cultures.

Meet Hocus le Dinocroc, the friendly French dinosaur, and join him on his adventures as he meets lots of new friends!

In Art, paint pictures using real artists like Picasso and Monet as your inspiration. Use clay and papier mache to make models. Draw your self portrait using charcoal and chalk. Mix colours, experiment with textures and create unique works of art!

Read stories and poetry about animals, sea creatures, big bears, little bears...everything you can imagine! Be an author, write your own stories and poems, make books and posters.

Learn about numbers and counting, shapes and measures, even learn to tell the time.
