Welcome to our Nursery

Early Years Foundation Stage begins in our Nursery.

We aim to provide a happy, safe and stimulating environment where children learn while they are enjoying themselves and having fun.

Our friendly staff aim to quickly build good relationships with children, parents and local day care settings which enables us to build

on what the children can already do and take into account each child´s individual needs.

The curriculum is planned and taught through a series of topics where every area of learning can be covered in a way which relates to the children´s experiences. First and foremost we promote children´s personal, social and emotional development while we develop their learning in communication, language and literacy, creative development, knowledge and understanding of the world, problem solving, reasoning and numeracy and physical development.

We have a well resourced nursery and an exciting and adventurous outdoor area which we use in all weathers to enjoy every aspect of the curriculum.

During their time in Nursery the children will take part in many enjoyable activities both adult-led and initiated by the children. For

example while reading "Goldilocks and the Three Bears" we will role-play in the Three Bears Cottage, make and eat porridge, sing songs related to the story, consider different sizes, make bear collages and outdoors we explore ´the woods´.

At the end of the Nursery we ensure a very carefully managed transision to Reception Class which enables the children to settle into full-time easily and quickly.
